irish adventure challenge
Race History

An Turas Beag was first run in 2006 as The Irish Adventure Challenge.
The event was conceptualised and directed by Kerry mountaineer, Con Moriarty working with professionals in the fields of canoeing, (Star Sailing, Kenmare) running, (John Lenihan and An Ríocht AC) mountaineering (various individuals and
Work-At-Height Training Ltd) and biking (Killorglin CC), local landowners and the
local community.

The event sought to offer extreme adventure athletes an opportunity to
test themselves against the most dramatic and toughest course in Ireland,
honouring the majesty of the landscapes involved, adventure and
athleticism.

The innaugral challenge was a deemed a tremendous success by those who
participated and by the organisers, thereby validating future events and
the hope to establish the event as the premier adventrue challenge of it's
kind in Ireland, attracting national and international attention.
