Equipment & Apparel

Please read carefully, some changes have been made since newsletter 2
This year the race is different from previous formats:

• ALL equipment must be carried by competitors at all times. There
are no transitions or places to leave gear. ALL gear including water
bottles and food wrappers must be carried out from the mountains. We
operate a Leave no Trace policy.

• Paddles, buoyancy aids and spraydecks may be left with the boats. Bike
equipment may be left on the bikes as long as it is securely fastened.

• Athletes will be required to take their bikes to the Ford at An Com Cailí the evening before as other years. Also, this year athletes must drop their boats off, we will provide clear instructions at registration. We will provide overnight security at both locations.

• Water bottles and food may also be left with the boats and bikes as long as it is attached to the bike or the buoyancy aids. You will be given official race tags to place on your equipment at registration. All boats and bikes and associated gear must be tagged at registration.

• We will have rubbish bins at the transition areas for people to dump stuff at and the whole approach we expect from athletes will be expressed clearly at the pre-race Briefing. Immediate disqualification for littering!

• Bring your tents and sleeping bags. The Turas Beag Party 'The Eccentric Picnic' will be unforgettable. Summer BBQ, live music and dj 'til the wee hours of the morning and beyond. Bring musical instruments to join in!
